Troubleshooting
Frequently asked questions
Short answers about initial costs, accounts, data, machines, and automation.
Is the app free?
Yes. Telegram-Auto is currently free and has no pricing plans. You pay providers directly for Hetzner machines, proxies, and any external services you use.
Is Telegram-Auto an official Telegram product?
No. Telegram-Auto is an independent product with its own logo and is not affiliated with Telegram. You must still follow Telegram's terms and restriction decisions.
Which languages does the app support?
Vietnamese and English—for the web, Windows app, REST API, MCP, and this documentation. Each person chooses their own language in Settings → My profile. Content you enter, such as campaign names or message templates, is not automatically translated.
Do I need a personal account or a bot?
The Inbox and campaign flows use personal Telegram accounts. The current app also manages bots belonging to accounts. A bot token does not replace a personal account's sign-in session.
Does the app have built-in AI that writes and replies automatically?
No. The app has no built-in AI. Outgoing content comes from you, templates you write, or external systems calling the API. External AI connections cannot get past the safety gate.
Is all data stored on my machine?
No. The worker and Telegram sessions run on your machine. The web app still stores workspace data, conversations, messages, and states needed for the shared Inbox. Do not describe this model as “all data stays only on your own machine.”
Can I use a Windows machine instead of Hetzner?
Yes. Both machine types run the same software. You need to keep the Windows machine running and connected to the network. Closing the web app does not remove the need to keep the account's machine running.
Can one machine hold multiple accounts?
Yes. Default capacity is 40 accounts for a Hetzner machine and 20 for a Windows machine. Actual capacity also depends on machine resources; see Machines.
Can multiple accounts share a proxy?
No. Each account has its own proxy. A proxy marked as rotating IP cannot be assigned. Changing proxies does not clear Telegram's wait requirements or restrictions.
Does Free skip Telegram's limits?
No. Free is an app quota mode. The session, proxy, safety state, wait requirements, and do not contact list are still checked. New accounts use Free by default.
Does closing the web tab stop a campaign?
Not just because you close the tab. Work is coordinated on the server and executed by the worker. However, an offline machine or an unmet safety condition can still hold jobs.
Are unverified messages automatically resent?
They are not blindly resent. The app reconciles with Telegram to find confirmation. If evidence is still missing, an operator needs to decide rather than creating another identical message.
What happens if a recipient sends STOP?
A stop request can add that person to the workspace's do not contact list. Do not switch to another account or campaign to keep contacting them. You still need to handle wording that automatic detection does not understand.
How do REST, MCP, and webhooks differ?
REST and MCP read data or request actions according to the connection's permissions. Webhooks send signed events to a receiver. A webhook itself does not grant permission to act.
If it still fails
Start with Telegram sign-in, offline machines, or proxy errors. For an investigation, prepare object IDs, job IDs, and times. Do not send keys, tokens, QR codes, or passwords.
